Why Steam is the most popular gaming platform for people? I think Origin and UPlay is good.

Steam has more promotion true, but also even with all of Steam's flaws it's the best platform like that imo. It has more games, a larger player base, and just generally more features than UPlay and Origin. Plus I like it's design better

UPlay and Origin are based on a certain game developer whereas steam is open to anyone to post there games, therefore it has a far more extensive library to choose from

a lot of the platforms are as cancerous as it gets, but steam is the best out of all of them right now, many popular games are published on there and many early access games (rust, pubg, ark) are also published there, steam is more convenient.

Steam is more known, more diverse and has been the number one community for PC gamers since the start.

Steam also doesn't have the drawback of being directly associated with shady business practices towards gamers like EA (Origin) and Ubisoft (Uplay) have become known for in recent years.
