Well people all over the world are playing games, but referring to the psychological aspects, why are people attracted to these? Do you think people deliberately play to suppress reality? Where is the thin line between normality and addiction?

What does gaming mean to you?

It's mainly addiction through stimulation. There are various academic and scientific studies and corresponding documentation covering this. It may also be linked to the reason why people are generally drawn to consume media as a whole. For the same reasons, we can ask why we have moviegoers, series binge watchers, musicians, concert junkies, couch potatoes, you name it.

Do you have any numbers, statistics, research on the popularity of gaming. It might be as popular as you say, but we should not start of your personal view on things. Many species play games, main natural reason for it - learning obviously, for humans this went on a different level some time ago, and gaming is a way of entertain ourselves. But lets get back to the question, give us some numbers.
