Watching other pros play the game you are trying to learn speeds up the process a ton. You'll observe things that might take you many hours to figure out.

For me, I usually watch youtube video montages of other more skilled players do it and try to mimic damn in game. If its on PC, make use of Steam overlay browser for fast switching and practising. Invest in wired appliances; wired network i think its called ethernet and wired mouse, keyboard and headphones to minimise input lag and wasting of batteries when practising.

The best way to improve in any game is to practice, and pay attention to what you're doing. If you just auto-pilot during your sessions all you will do is ingrain bad habits. Recording your gameplay if it's a shooter/fighter/moba other competitive game will help too. You get to see the game from different angles to get a full grasp on why you didn't do well or got outplayed.

most of the time you get better by changing your mindest. often people are blocked becuase they are raging or stuff.. keep your calm and you will get better scores..

Literally just play them more, you'll get the hang of them.

Daily practice and learning from people better than you. If its a competitive game usually there should be VOD reviews which will teach you a lot and make you more mindful of your gameplay. My advice would to not spend too much time on games but if there is a genre to try get better at it'll be FPS games. The practice will transfer to most games.
