Money well wasted!! I am trying to keep my phone running for as long it cans. Buy already used phone from people buying new phones every year. If you don't need a good phone for doing your job is a waste of money buying every year especially android devices. Android have like an expiration date for phones after 1-2 years.

Why are you buying a phone every year? They're getting more and more expensive as time goes on, for some people a good portion of their pay cheque each year would be going towards buying a new phone if that was the case.
I'd suggest buying the newest phone, then using it for a few years before deciding to upgrade to another. Or you can just be a big brain and decide to make a phone from a raspberry pi. Sure, it's bulky, but it's cool! With the new Pi's, I'm pretty sure you can get 8GB of RAM.

No, I believe every other or third generation of a certain phone is worth buying. Most people use their phones for social media and maybe a taking a few pics of cats or landscapes.
