should i upgrade to 32gb ram (ddr4)?

I have 16 GB of RAM and until now I have never needed more than that, I play all the recent games.

check the performance tab in task manager when running a game or program that puts a heavy load on your system, (for me at least) i'd then go and upgrade whatever is lacking the most, so in your case, if 16GB isn't enough for whatever you're doing i would recommend upgrading if you can afford it lmao

As what everyone said, depends on usage. But, if you do upgrade to 32gb and bought it as separate 2x8GB packs, make sure to tweak it. You need to do some OC'ing for it to run at stable. Otherwise, stay at 16gb. Enough for most basic tasks with extra.

I guess 16 GB will probably be perfect for you. Until you are running VMs or you are playing so intense games that you need more ram but I think you just could grab another 8 gigs and that will do it.
