Could hacking a server get you banned on steam?

gmod doesn't have a anti cheat system like VAC so u can't get vac ban but u can get ban from the server where you play if he have a anti cheat script like SimpLAC, !CAKE, HEX, server guard and many orther

Probably. Its highly likely that hacking in to a server which in its self illegal will probably get you banned from steam.

There is lots of servers with anti cheat and yes there is a VAC system but really laid back and if you get banned you can only play on non secured servers which 100% will involve many hackers plus it will be a very small list of servers to choose from like 10 or lower. In my opinion don't cheat it can ruin the game for others and you can get punished for it plus if you have lots of hours on it why would you want to waste them just to hack?

That's not true, it isn't illegal.

You cannot get VAC banned on Garry's Mod. You used to be able to many years ago, but it's pretty much disabled now.

Damn sense when? That's not good then they should still have VAC coverage because the game is still good and commonly played. Better not become a CSGO.

Since a good few years back. VAC would be completely pointless in GMOD, as most projects and other things are ran through lua, what most people use for cheating. This could cause many people to get banned for no reason. Not very good for Garry's Mod.

I had someone hack recently (got past the cac protection/log). So i'm figuring out what further security to take. I can post a full log dump of the user who did it, etc..

Just let it go, you don't get anything out of pursuing him.

Yes, you can get vac banned on garry's mod but you will be able to play any other game fine

VAC banned, most likely not, as VAC is strictly a cheat system
