Could hacking a server get you banned on steam?

No you will not be banned by the VAC system, you could only get banned by the server assuming it runs CAC.

VAC is not enabled in gmod anymore. Even if you loaded some dumb detected shit from 5 years ago you won't get banned. ScriptEnforcer isn't active anymore either i don't believe.

No. not if you interfered with steam or manually emailed them saying " I hacked someones server on your network" << that would be very very dumb.

If the server has VAC protection or others, then for any cheating or hacking you will be blocked from accessing the VAC game by the ban. I would not advise taking a great interest in this.

Ehh i dont think so its really a matter of what protection service they have, i have !cake so its just a matter of time before they get the hammer.

Steam rarely bans anyone in general, usually general bans given are community bans for continuous user harassment or thread spam. As others mentioned VAC doesn't really apply anymore. Worst the user can get is a game ban, but they are given out by the developers. Unless he directly violated Steam TOS there is nothing Valve will do to him.
