Anime back in the original toonami days. Got really into Sailor Moon and then as I engaged with the community online learned they were making a *lot* of changes for the US audience. Bought the Sailor Moon manga which then got me into other mangas from there.

I generally start with the anime, which is completely backwards from how I do things like with books and movies or whatever. But I find that I can really enjoy an anime for what it is, probably having a hunch that something's missing but not knowing what; and then reading the manga afterward, loving the manga even more for that bit I suspected was there but couldn't imagine, but still being able to go back and love the anime just the same. If that makes any sense. Two examples would be Erased and Elfen Lied. Really enjoyed both animes, but neither felt really complete. Erased felt rushed, and so much went unanswered in Elfen Lied. But I liked them both a lot. And the mangas answered all my questions. Elfen Lied's ending caught me off guard with how emotional it got me.

I started around my 10 years old with a french tv show called "Club Dorothe", who aired Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Saint Seiya, Hokuto No Ken, City Hunter... Well, a lot of japanime actually. I started reading mangas a looong time after that, around my fifteen's.

I usually start with anime first but if the anime interested me enough then I would check out the manga.

I started my adventure by watching anime. Since the beginning of my anime watching, I have watched over 150 series (although I know it's still not much). My meeting with the manga - if you can call it that - was buying the first four light novels of Sword Art Online: Alicization. I am currently reading third one, and I am already planning to read the rest. In the meantime, I watch anime, but recently I only rewatch old series, because I can't find anything new and interesting for myself to watch.
