How to get people on your server

I started a new server, and want to know how to get more people on it?

Spread the word, tell your friends, submit it to serverlist sites. Not much more you can do besides provide excellent gameplay and fun for your players so that they spread it among other players.

Unless, ya know... you pay for players lol

Try some steam group , forums , facebook groups , etc...
It could work well , also try to ask your steam friends.

1 thing not to do, advertise on other servers(groups or websites) xD

submit it to serverlist sites and share to your friends and the friends of your friends :D

you spray your name all over the place and pray that someone joins + invite some freinds. give free admin trial to pps

All you can really do is be up, be dedicated and be on it to administrate it, dont submit to the staff hopping lil kids just let em go u dont want them kind of people hanging around. Not selling admin usually goes well with communities as well, put new in the title or something and be on it ever just having you on will have you showing up before the ones with 0, try and be abit lax and make it fun at first cuz there isnt much you can do in say a gamemode like darkrp with 2-5 people.

Be different from every other server, provide unique content and a reason to come back, nice and friendly staff are a huge point too. Tell your friends and tell their friends. Make a steam group and post it everywhere possible then you should see some change of players. Just don't make it that people have to pay to get good weapons etc...

Make sure you have a group of friends that you know will join on the first day of the server up, hopefully, that attention will bring new people to join, hopefully attracting new people.
