The cost of crypto has to be higher than the cost of the electricity to produce it. If the margin is close then you can still mine if you expect the price to rise etc...

Bunch of media coverage was sighted in on crypto a few months back, everybody and their dog wanted a piece of it so a bunch of people started buying up crypto and mining rigs which made the value shoot up for a while.

Now that the hype has died out, and people aren't making as much as they thought they would- they are selling their mining rigs.

Because of the massive drop in people interested, the market is down. I highly doubt it's going to stay down though, just give it time to recover.

Remember, for every up there is a down. It's only a matter of time.
mining will live for many years to come, that is what i think.

Mining is dead in some countries, it strongly depends on the energy price. If your kWh costs more than a few cents then it might be no longer worth it. Also hardware costs is increasing due to the increase in the difficulty. For now maybe mining less popular coins is more profitable when they finally get a price increase, but who knows, crypto is a game.
