Of course I care, I'm an open guy and if you think you can open my eyes to a more cleaner and enjoyable version of rap then I would really appreciate the suggestions.

You can't classify the new bullshit as the entirety of rap honestly. There has been a lot of different eras of Hip-Hop, yo had the Boom Bap, Jazzy, Funk, etc. Can't go wrong with some 90s rap.

When you say all they talk about is "well, fuck this, nigga that, guns, knifes drugs, I mean what is the appeal for that type of music?", (im black for the record) we only speak on the life we lived, the way we were raised, and on our environment. You can't say rap is bad because they simply talk about something you can't relate to. Now if you're really interested in lyricism, wordplay, storytelling, go listen to the full illmatic album by Nas. All of Nas' tracks are classics honestly.

I suppose I understand what you are saying regarding speaking of the way you've lived (not a racist) but I feel that some artists do we go way over the top with the lyrics, I suppose this is moretrue with the younger generation of rap artists. I', always up for suggestions soI will look for an illmatic torrent shortly and let you know what I think Smile

I doubt you'll have to torrent it, should be on YouTube honestly, these are rap classics.

Artists like Nas, Biggie Smalls, Eminem, Rakim, Big L, Big Pun, etc. we will never see that golden age of hip hop again. But definitely go check out illmatic and go in open minded, give it a chance and actually try to understand the lyrics.

I don't think rap is dead right now. If anything it's booking in popularity due to mumble rappers taking over the pop charts.
I wouldn't say things like Mo Bamba or Stoopid are anything game changing. But I also wouldn't call them the worst thing to happen to music. There are also still very good rappers making music.

N.Y. State of mind is pretty cool, I see what you mean regarding lyrics, basically telling a story in the form of music and it's not overhyped 100 lile an hour bullshit, it's pretty mellow
