I remember seeing these kind of threads about 8 years ago. Now I know that things change all the time, but if it was turning trash almost a decade ago, wouldn't it be trash by now?

Well altho i agree that rap is turning trash (my personal opinion) i also think that just like everything else, rap evolved and it evolved into something i no longer enjoy.
