Serious Hey all, Is Cracking a form of Hacking?

Software cracking(known as "breaking" in the 1980s[1]) is the modification ofsoftwareto remove or disable features which are considered undesirable by the person cracking the software, especiallycopy protectionfeatures (including protection against the manipulation of software, serial number, hardware key, date checks and disc check) or software annoyances likenag screensandadware(Wikipedia).

I guess it's a form of hacking

In general it depends where you are cracking it from i think. Websites have cracks for a reason you know.

Personally i dont think that cracking is a type of hacking! some people tend to differ but i dont think it is!

It's different in that way if you're hacking you have a permission to do that (white hat hackers), but if u're cracking then u don't have a permission (black hat hacker).

I would say no cause there are many things that make the to different

Cracking usually takes some type of skill and prior knowledge( if youre cracking accounts) just like hacking so honestly Id say yes, if not its very close to ?hacking

Without official permission from developer you are hacking, in any way whatsoever hash codes or something. No permission, deliberately studying the software maliciously activating a paid service without paying is hacking.

Unless of course you get paid, or get permission from the developer.

This basicly sums it up, If you are trying to get access into something that dosen't belong to you like nulling a software or getting a software that you havent paid for nor have access too it's hacking simple as that.

Wait wut? cracking isn't just "downloading a file through a torrent" it obtainining the file and nulling it to be able to use without buying it nor permission to use it.

yes cracking counts as forms of hacking , you get access to others accounts

Nah i would consider it as a more harsh way of hacking but not as a form of it.
