If your page has defined a limited number of interactions or categories, it can be an excellent option, but if your page will have a lot of elements and properties, the problem will be that it is likely that during development and maintenance you will get confused if you do not perform an efficient management of the code, technologically speaking you can do with similar technology huge sites of a single page, the user will not notice much the difference

Do you want to rank with your Site on Google for a specific Keyword? If yes, it could be a problem because you need good Content.
And with a "Landingpage" or Single Page you can't add so much Content.

But if you don't use it for this, then in my opinion it is a good Idea.

Simple page websites work for some projects. I have done it for like 7 low-paying clients so far

old post but since a few other people commented here is my take,

Single page websites are great for google actually. If its built correctly and have a good amount of content the page can rank great! if you focus on validating all the code and have ZERO errors and make the sitemap (Yes a sitemap is needed for a single page) and good keyword managment you can have a single page site rank on page one.

a nice parallax page with roughly 1000 words, proper use of h1-h5 tags etc and i will bet your site ranks good

So it makes it a little harder yes. but it's doable when properly built. When you share a page about bad seo from a company that wants to sell you seo its a little biased. Sure you only have one page indexed on google but again with proper keyword planning you can easily out rank some multi page sites. Its all in keywords and a good description. using keywords that 1000s of similar sites use make it hard. using the right keywords makes it easy. Driving traffic to your site from other means bumps it to. I have had simple page sites show up on google page one searching simple key words that competitors didn't use.
