Adobe Premiere Pro is my favourite, but a lot of people use Sony Vegas Pro 14 or above

I use sony vegas and it's pretty good, also after-effects are very very good but it takes time to learn it.

creative cloud, you can use a free trial to check it out and see if it's what you need before hand too!

For video, I've found that Blackmagic Design DaVinci Resolve Studio is the best. There's also a free version which is also pretty decent too. It's quite feature-rich and rendering videos I've found is a lot quicker than Adobe's suite.

For photo, from my long experience I would say Adobe Photoshop, not easy to use, but once you learn it and get used to it, it'll do something that the rest of them can't do.

Photoshop, Adobe Ilustrator... and I guess all the Adobe cloud is the bet out there, but if you are looking for a much easier software for videos I definitely recommend Filmora.
