Speed of website depends on many factors. You can use CDN services. Moreover, You can choose Litespeed web server if you are using VPS services. Lastly, resize your images so that they can load fast.

Minify CSS, JS, lazy load all images not in screen and optimize them, use GZIP/DEFLATE, keep your website's assets low, load javascripts and unnecessary css/js at the footer. I get 90 for mobile / 100 for desktop on pagespeed.google like this

The best way to speed up a website is using a CDN.

Also, use a code minimizer, that can speed up you website.

Something you can also do is use Gzip compression, that will really speed up your website.

I am actually learning HTML, CSS, and JS mostly for the sole purpose to be able to improve a WordPress based site page loading speed.

First, I would strongly advise you to take your time in reading GTMetrix, Google PageSpeed Insights and Web Page Test issues report and spend as much time researching the web about the best way to fix or improve every single issue.

While you do it, make sure you write lots of notes and build-up your own On-Sie Loading Speed Optimization guide.

There are a lot of tutorials on YouTube on how you can achieve this.

My personal favorites are these...

Hope this helps,

Cheers!

I would second using Cloudflare, it will certainly help if you have a lot of assets as they'll be loaded from CF's CDN. Rocketloader on CF is also very good - however it can break some JS so be careful
