I think it just boils down to studios wanting to cash in on the open world hype and then making all the side stuff seem like a chore to do(Ubisoft)

It feels most, if not all games that come out now are open world. I know games get criticized for it

I was all ready to agree with you, that I'm fairly done with open world games - I prefer a short, tight story, myself. But then I remembered how much I love Far Cry Smile

I'm a big fan of exploration but open worlds with nothing interesting in them are boring

Creo que los juegos de mundo abierto cada vez son mas repetitivos... ltimamente cada juego que empiezo no lo suelo acabar

for me personally, i like the open world games again after i took a break from them for a few months. ghost of tsushima for example, though a bit shallow, reeled me in real good.

If you put it that way, it does sound boring even with the differences between all open-world mechanism. Fetch quest, Escort, Tailing, and even probably just everything related with the quest, does have a flaw

I also don't like open world games except for Just Cause 3 since the game makes it interesting enough to not get boring for a while

It can be a bit tiring seeing the same old assets repeated constantly. What I find absolutely enthralling however is a game like Deus Ex: Human Revolution's city hubs, there's SO much going on in such a small space, I can remember every nook and cranny in an environment that in my memory still feels quite large.

I love Open World games, because they give you the freedom of exploration.
