A lot of people keep saying that minecraft is saved because pewdiepie posted videos about the game lol

The lego games are quite similar and they have also come back to interest. From the memes. Minecraft memes went hard for a while which I think also added to it. So I think it was memes and pewdiepie. As well as every other youtuber on the platform. But keep it mind it just went from big to mainstream again. It was never really dying. Would of taken years and years at best.

Well i believe it is far more complex than just pewds uploading minecraft videos. Basically quite a lot of things had a role in the revive of minecraft. In short here they are:

1. The launch of Hytale by Hypixel Server in Minecraft
2. Minecraft Earth
3. Minecraft Dungeons (A very small part though)

Because of this, pewds played minecraft which he ironically criticized before, and that made a huge impact on the number of players.

He did contribute to its increase in popularity; but only momentarily. The game wasn't "saved", it just got a boost thanks to him and other YouTuber's making videos on the game.
