is whatsapp safe?

I dont think there is anything safe because the text, photos and videos you are sending are all stored on a server somewhere, you can tell me it is encrypted and stuff but yknow if a hacker or someone like that wants to access the data he can to ;)

Honestly if you really wanna be secure just do it the old fashioned way and talk to them face to face. If that's not an option then I think it's safe? Not 100% sure.

Used to be good.. now.. telegram and signal are better

Whatsapp is pretty safe to me, it uses end to end decryption.

just don't install or do anythiong stupid that would leak your information to the app

Whatsapp is not 100% secure however as long as you don't click on strange links or downloads then you should be safe.

I have never used WhatsApp but it is generally safe. except for the occasional scammers
